‘October Is Coming’ has been on Twayn’s live set for a whole year, playing it to receptive audiences across the country as they continue to support Jools Holland.
Their most notable performances as a result have included the Royal Albert Hall in London and two arena shows in Cardiff and Swansea respectively.
The song is simultaneously a letter to your younger self I wish I was sixteen,’ and an anxious allegory for what is to come ‘October is coming and I can’t outrun it anymore.’
‘October Is Coming’ sees Twayn conjure up a stirring instrumental arrangement, moving harmonies and emotional lyrics, as they reflect upon changing circumstances as life moves forward.
Its heart wrenching lyrics refer to the twin sisters moving forwards with their lives but being uncertain of the future ‘I wish my sister was around; I wish I never moved out.’
This song is for anyone in their early 20s, or anyone with big life changes upcoming.
Bring your tissues and your big-girl pants: it’s about to get real.
