New Album Lose My Grip Releases July 10, 2026
——————-
Ontario punk trio Among Legends kick off their next chapter with “H/A/C/K,” the lead single from their upcoming full-length Lose My Grip, due July 10, 2026. Landing May 1, the track draws from the band’s roots in southern Ontario’s punk and ska circuit, with touchpoints that run from The Flatliners and Hostage Life through to the melodic urgency of Bad Religion and Less Than Jake. Produced, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Matt Gauthier at ARC Recording Studio and This Place Needs A Name, “H/A/C/K” sets the tone early. Tighter, louder, and a little more frayed at the edges.
Among Legends have always lived in that space between melody and impact. The kind of band that can land a hook without sanding off the rough parts. “H/A/C/K” leans into that balance. Fast, punchy, and dialed in, but still carrying the wear and tear of late nights and long drives. You can hear it in the way the guitars lock in and push forward, in the dual vocal energy that never quite settles, always reaching for something just out of frame. That feeling didn’t come out of nowhere. It’s built on years of shows, touring, and time spent figuring out where the band actually fits. Not tied to one scene or one city, but shaped by the in-between. The hours on the 401 somewhere past midnight, gear in the back, heat cranked, chasing the next show. The fluorescent hum of a 24-hour Tim Hortons in a town you barely caught the name of. That’s where Among Legends have always lived.
Formed in 2016, Among Legends built their foundation the long way. A run of self-released EPs, constant shows, and a steady climb through the melodic punk underground. Their 2022 debut full-length Take Good Care marked a turning point, produced by Siegfried Meier and released internationally through Little Rocket Records, Rad Girlfriend Records, and Sounds of Subterrania. The record pulled in coverage from BrooklynVegan, Exclaim!, New Noise Magazine, PunkNews, Dying Scene, Canadian Beats, and Idobi Radio, with BrooklynVegan calling it “one ripper after another” and placing the band squarely between The Menzingers and Alkaline Trio. But even that release only told part of the story. Recorded in 2019 and delayed by the pandemic until 2022, Take Good Care captured a version of the band that had already started to shift. In the years that followed, lineup changes and time on the road reshaped Among Legends into something leaner and more focused. At the center of that shift are Mitchell Buchanan and Sara Fellin, who carried the band forward and rebuilt it from the ground up, with guitarist Bennett Rouleau now rounding out the current lineup.

Since then, they’ve stayed in motion. Touring consistently across Canada and the United States, playing anywhere that will have them, from Ontario bars and DIY spaces to runs through the Northeast and Midwest. The result is a band that feels road-tested in the truest sense. Not just tight, but lived-in. At its core, Among Legends is still built on friendship and a shared idea of what playing music should feel like. That hasn’t changed. What has changed is the weight behind it. Lose My Grip finds the band pushing harder into their sound. More aggressive, more focused, and willing to let things hit a little rougher when it counts. With Mitchell Buchanan on bass and vocals, Sara Fellin on drums and former member Tyler Boles on guitar, the trio locks into something immediate and lived-in. “H/A/C/K” is the first glimpse of that shift. A track that doesn’t overthink it, doesn’t dress itself up. It just hits hard and direct. If Take Good Care was about finding their footing, the new album sounds like a band ready to test it. “H/A/C/K” is the spark. Lose My Grip is the flame.
