MUKI wakes things up on ‘Morning Music’ as he announces debut ‘Trampoline EP’

Having already introduced MUKI through ‘Gasoline’ and ‘Reflections’ earlier this year, ‘Morning Music’ feels like the point where things begin to open up. It still carries that same introspection, but there’s a noticeable shift in scale, like the project is starting to stretch out beyond itself.

The Naarm/Melbourne-based artist, originally from Dubai with Indian roots, has been slowly building this body of work rather than rushing it. ‘Gasoline’ leaned into restraint, ‘Reflections’ sat with uncertainty, and ‘Morning Music’ feels like the next step, less contained, more willing to let things unfold.

It starts in familiar territory. Acoustic guitar, space in the arrangement, vocals that feel close and unforced. For a moment, it sits in that same quiet pocket he’s carved out across the previous singles. But then it shifts. Layers build, the rhythm tightens, and the track begins to push forward.

What stands out is how far it goes. The back half opens up into something much bigger, heavier guitars, more urgency, a sense of release that contrasts the calm opening. It doesn’t feel abrupt though. More like a slow build finally paying off.

“It’s called Morning Music because it’s the music we face every single day when we wake up,” MUKI explains. “It’s relentless, it’s unforgiving. This song is about accepting and finding peace in that music.”

Lyrically, it still sits in that same space he’s been exploring, somewhere between wanting out and learning to stay. The difference here is in how it’s delivered. Less held back, more willing to let the emotion spill over.

If ‘Gasoline’ introduced the project and ‘Reflections’ deepened it, ‘Morning Music’ feels like it finally lifts the ceiling. It’s the clearest sense yet of where MUKI is heading with ‘Trampoline EP’, and worth sticking with right through to the end.
