Muralheart echoes Nirvana, The Stone Roses, and Smashing Pumpkins in their sophomore single, the huge grunge anthem ‘Hey I’. Recorded in the band’s bedroom studio, the song explores escaping routine and finding space to enjoy the present, led by roaring vocals, crashing drums, and huge guitars.
Following their single ‘Sentimental (Once Again)’, released in July, ‘Hey I’ shows the ambition of the three-piece who met during University.
Discussing the release, the band says:
“Hey I was recorded and produced entirely from our bedroom studio. A recurring theme, especially evident in Hey I, is our grasp on wanting to escape the everyday grind of work life and remember to live in the moment more!”
Formed by Jamie, Alex, and Émilie in Loughborough, the band is busy working on their album, penned for next year. ‘Hey I’ is a gateway into how that album may look and feel – and we like what we’re hearing so far.
