Palmfox are an indie band from Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
Their desire to produce dreamy music from strong roots is reflected in their heroes: from Dutch indie guru Spinvis to the wide soundscapes of The War on Drugs.
‘Destiny’ begins with a gentle but joyous guitar arrangement, which leads us to the beautiful vocal harmonies of Palmfox.
The song then continues as the indie quartet further entertain with catchy instrumentals that perfectly flow alongside reflective and introspective lyrics.
Jesper (vocals, synths) and Kevin (lead guitar) became friends during primary school, while Job (acoustic guitar, backings) and Jesper united behind a shared musical ambition during their university days in Eindhoven.
Jerom (the drummer) is the rock that keeps it all together.
All this culminates in a warm layered sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh, with ‘Destiny’ marking the beginning of their journey.
The band is kicking off with several shows at smaller festivals in the Netherlands, this summer.
Fun fact about Palmfox, their weekly practice occurs in a barn in Ravenstein, the village that Jesper and Kevin grew up in, with both still living in cities closeby.
Each week though, Job makes his way from the buzzling city centre of Amsterdam, where he battles for better climate policy for primary income.
And Jerom? Jerom is just always there.
