‘Slow Heart Attack’ is the newest single from Good Skin

Sean Meehan, under the name Good Skin, has followed up his late-2025 album with a glorious single, titled ‘Slow Heart Attack’. Released in late May, we’re a little late to the party, but the themes of rioting, war, and the growth of AI are still as prevalent some weeks later. These themes, over mid-2000s riffage, paint a valuable picture and represent the next chapter in an impressive journey for Good Skin.

Discussing the single, Sean explains:

“This song came from a bad news day. The kind that feels increasingly unavoidable if you pay any attention to the world around you. Written in mid-last year, amid the riots in Ballymena, the ongoing war in Ukraine, the suffering in Gaza, and growing anxieties around AI, it explores the feeling of being overwhelmed by a constant stream of crisis and conflict. The song reflects on the struggle to find your own position in the middle of it all, the way algorithms and unseen forces shape what we see, and how symbols of national pride can be twisted into symbols of division and hatred. It also turns its attention to those in power, questioning how leaders justify the harm they cause and reminding us that they, too, were once innocent children. Ultimately, the song’s themes aren’t tied to any one moment in history; they could belong to almost any century.”
