Caswell, the Suffolk alt-pop songstress, has returned with her long-awaited debut, Break/Bleed/Bloom. Comprised of nine tracks, it moves in threes as the title suggests. Starting with dark, angered, tense soundscapes, moving towards emotive and melancholic melodies, then flourishing into alt-pop anthems for the final third.

Across these, Caswell moves between downtempo electronica, the shimmer of dream pop and grittiness. Tension, mourning and renewal are all given their own pocket of a signature sound. Despite this, all roads lead back to the Caswell sound, that mastery of music that is like a red tapestry sewn with gold thread.

Caswell explains, “For me, this album is about leaning into endings instead of rushing past them. We live in a world that tells us to keep producing, achieving and moving forward, but I wanted to show the power in allowing things to die. That’s where the real growth happens.

It was written over three years, giving us the time and space to really live with the songs while living life. Collaborating with my long-time live band and producers kept it super authentic and organic too, and we’re so excited to finally share it with the world, before the next creative cycle begins.”

Turning heads after winning a nationwide competition to support Ed Sheeran on tour, Caswell has since been picked up by Reading & Leeds, Latitude and Bearded Theory, earned radio play on the BBC and received praise from the tastemaker press of the UK.
