In the current climate, the pop genre is by and large split into two camps. The first is full of established names, churning out lushly produced cookie cutter music which will please the masses. The second is full of independent artists trying to find a way through and offering something different.
Voodoo Dancer are a New York based group who fall into the latter camp, and though their new single ‘Forever Girl’ doesn’t share the studio perfection you’ll hear on your average chart hit, it does have a funky spirit which is more than enough to recommend it.
There are two versions available too – either the radio edit for pop fans, or the club remix for people more interested in dance. Either way, I’d recommend supporting the independent side of pop by heading over to iTunes now.
