Retro-futurist pop auteurs IVERSEN have shared their new single ‘Wake Up’.
IVERSEN are an East-London based retro-futuristic pop project, primarily composed of Josh Iverson & Jonny Royall.
The band are signed to independent Cardiff based label TimeSlave Recordings.
The track is the second single taken from their upcoming album ‘House Plants’, out on October 15th.
‘Wake Up’ is the follow-up to their debut single ‘Heartbeats’ and delivers quirky electro melodies that are paralleled by the accompanying video.
IVERSEN had this to say of the track, “Starting its life as an old demo that I started writing before heading off to pride, I was unable to find the ingredients to finish it on returning. During the last year, I bought a B-stock talkbox to aid my isolation and this was the missing piece – working with Jonny, we finished the track in a matter of hours after that.
We’re both massive Zapp fans and we’ve always wanted to incorporate some Troutman into some of our songs, and we hope we’ve done him justice.”
