OUT TODAY: UK Artist Jonny Spalding’s New Mixtape ‘Community’

Introducing ‘Community’, the debut solo mix-tape by UK songwriter-composer-producer, Jonny
 Spalding.
After spending many years working behind the scenes as a songwriter for a number of artists, let us introduce you to Spalding as a solo artist in his own right…

There aren’t many producers out there who are willing to explore new frontiers, but Spalding is an exception. The mixtape as a whole is a unique blend of EDM, electro-pop, 80s synth-pop, hip-hop and other more experimental leanings. There are traces of ILLENIUM, Hot Chip and Jamie Woon, among others.

A stand-out track is ‘Break Me’, featuring incredible vocals from J Appiah. This is a low-fi electronic ballad,
which has drawn praise from Spalding’s production-heroes The Nextmen and Hole In My Heart, and also hit #1 on
Beatport Deep-house chart in Summer 2021. Make sure to also enjoy the sultry ‘Late Night Mix’ of this track too. ‘Talk’ featuring the luscious voice Emma Ballantine is a melancholic ode to desire, with guitar arrangements at its core. We love the unusual two-step choruses, and the haunting verses which contrast so well together. We adore the climactic outro too.

His most recent release Community, is very well-produced, and it feels like a one-of-a-kind example of what you can expect from such a versatile name in the music industry. Jonny is here to leave a mark, and this release is indeed a clear indication of what to expect.

Jonny comments:

“This record is very much my love letter to London, Collaboration and Community and has been an awesome experience. Massive thanks to everyone involved and to everyone who has supported me.
