Singer-songwriter Dailla is back with a striking new release that blends alternative pop and rock in a short, electrifying burst. Her latest single, ‘lalalove me’, clocks in at just 2 minutes and 33 seconds, but it delivers a powerful statement about judgment, pressure, and staying true to yourself.
Dailla’s multi-instrumental background, on piano, guitar, drums, and vocals, allows her to craft music from the inside out. Raised on classic rock bands, she carries the raw guitars, big emotions, and unfiltered intensity of her childhood influences. Today, modern artists like Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift inspire her emotionally driven pop sensibilities, creating music that is both bold and vulnerable.
“At that meeting, I was told I wasn’t interesting enough. That I should shave my head or dye my hair red to be ‘something,’” Dailla recounts. “They came completely unprepared — didn’t know my songs and were seeing my Instagram for the first time. They talked about me as if I wasn’t even there. ‘lalalove me’ was born out of frustration and anger — from being judged and almost written off without any real effort to understand me as an artist or a person.”
The song is a raw and honest reflection on what happens when you turn to “industry professionals” for guidance, and are met with judgment instead of support. With its signature storytelling, ‘lalalove me’ is a reminder that not every opinion deserves to shape you. Staying true to yourself is a powerful form of resistance.
Musically, the track fuses alt-pop and rock with a darker, emotional edge. A droning electric guitar motif anchors the track, while rough, forceful drums heighten its urgency. Dailla’s vocals are highly expressive, amplifying the honesty of her lyrics and underscoring her authenticity.
With ‘lalalove me’, Dailla solidifies her voice as an artist unafraid to confront the pressures of the industry, channel frustration into art, and celebrate self-truth above all.
