Music Premiere: Collin Keller unveils powerful new single ‘Weed in the Garden’

Music Crowns is proud to premiere “Weed in the Garden”, the brand-new release from Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter, producer, and guitarist Collin Keller. Known for crafting music that lives in the glow between pop, rock, and soul, Keller’s songs carry the kind of emotional weight that feels like they’ve been echoing in your chest for years.

As a touring guitarist, songwriter, and producer, Keller has long written with a restless heart and a sharp sense of place. With “Weed in the Garden”, he returns to something more intimate — stories and emotions that could only be told in his own voice.

Describing the track as political surf pop, Keller wrote much of it on the road before completing it back home in Los Angeles. The result is a lush, genre-bending anthem, weaving together indie rock grit, psychedelic textures, and soulful pop flourishes into a modern protest song.

At its core, “Weed in the Garden” uses the metaphor of an invasive weed to confront corruption and greed while celebrating resilience and resistance. “It’s about rooting down deeper, refusing to fade, and holding onto hope even in dark times,” Keller explains. “Protest music still matters.”

The track channels sonic echoes of John Mayer’s Born and Raised era, while carrying the emotional immediacy of Jack Garratt and the sharp edge of Jesse Welles. Entirely self-driven, the single also spotlights Keller’s multifaceted artistry, with credits including:

  • Songwriter, Producer, Mix Engineer, Master Engineer, Guitar: Collin Keller
  • Bass: Jenny Giammanco

Born in Vail, Colorado and now based in Los Angeles, Keller has built a career that bridges the worlds of touring musicianship and intimate songwriting. His past credits include fronting the project luhx., touring with Dutch Melrose, and performing in productions such as The Life and Music of George Michael, Dirty Dancing in Concert, and The Simon & Garfunkel Story. He’s also taken to major stages including Osheaga and Switchyard Music Festival.

“Weed in the Garden” is just the beginning of this new chapter. Keller will release alternate versions of the track each week — including an instrumental, a radio edit, and a chilled “Faded” version — giving fans new ways to experience the song and connect with his restless creativity.

Music Crowns is thrilled to spotlight this release — a bold and timely statement from an artist who refuses to let his voice be ignored.
