The Chainsmokers have revealed that Mariah Carey once mistook them for British boy band One Direction.
The EDM duo spoke about meeting the pop icon during a recent interview for SiriusXM radio show, The Morning Mash Up.

“I remember seeing her and I was like, ‘Oh my god, like ‘Fantasy’ and ‘Honey,’” Alex Pall began, “And she was like, ‘Dude, I love you guys.’”
In response, Pall and his bandmate Drew Taggart expressed their surprise that the pop icon knew who they were, to which Carey responded: “One Direction, right?”
The queen of shade later took to Twitter to twist the knife, retweeting a clip of the interview with the caption: “Of course I know you!! I love your song ‘that’s what makes you beautiful’!”

Last month, The Chainsmokers shared that they could “die happy” after they teamed up with pop-punk legends Blink-182 to write “an amazing song.”
