Tunnel innovates on album ‘Personas’

Live techno performer Tunnel has unveiled the long-awaited Personas, a record that blurs genre boundaries and pushes out into new realms of electronic production. Thematically and sonically, this is constantly evolving, sometimes intimate and cinematic, and at others, violent and trembling. It tracks a hopeful dystopia.

The raw, transformative duality that arrived is explosive, rhythmic, and constantly shattering your expectations. Amongst the ten tracks are features from Lilith Burke and Darkcloud, further expanding this dynamic range and weaving in this grit and release pulse.

“With Personas,” Tunnel shares, “I wanted to break free from the constraints of a specific genre and create something that reflects the range of my musical obsessions, while building a narrative throughout. The album reflects something that doesn’t fit into a neat and easily described box. It’s a sonic journey, shifting and evolving like a living entity, all in the service of emotion and a narrative of personal transformation… I love music that refuses to play by the rules of specific genres, and Personas is my way of embracing that ethos.”

Ryan Miller is the mind behind Tunnel. Spending over a decade carving and refining his path as a producer and performer. He’s performed under multiple aliases before establishing himself with his own imprint, Webuildmachines. Shows around the world have tagged him as immersive, techno IDM, breaks, and experimental sound collide.
