Belgian duo Triggerfinger roar into action with their brand new single ‘Stars’, alongside the announcement of a 24-date European tour. Ruben Block and Mario Goossens return with a sound refreshed, re-energised and hungry. The drums are pounding, the guitars are fuzzy and excitable, and the synth sounds a ringing charisma when scattered around the chorus. Production is sharp, and our performers are gritty and swaggering, translating the live energy to the recorded medium.
“This song is basically about hope,” shares Block. “I wanted to talk about intergenerational differences. How every younger generation needs to find their own way, navigating through everyday life, find a purpose, regardless of what other generations think. Where it might be easy to highlight what we don’t understand and regard it as the wrong way to go, I thought it more interesting to write an encouraging song, putting some trust in younger people, even if they chose different paths and ways to walk them, even if we don’t always understand or agree with them.”
Across their two-decade career, we’ve seen Triggerfinger open for The Rolling Stones and tour the UK and Ireland with Thin Lizzy. The latest single was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Mitchell Froom. With it, the pair shows they are still reinventing themselves and providing a rush of adrenaline along the way.
