NYC glam-rock outfit Tony & The Kiki have brought Grammy Award–winning producer Dave Audé on board for an equally glitter-soaked, but now dancefloor-infused rendition of their anthem ‘Keep Shinin’ On’.
As the original sparked fire for their upcoming EP Fornication Under Consent of Queens, Volume 1, it was already a bold fusion of disco and unapologetic rock. In Audé’s hands, who, in the past, has transformed music from the likes of Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Madonna. With that, it becomes an EDM behemoth, begging for a festival set play, rising to a state of euphoria, before dropping into the chanting vocals against pulsating synths and relentless drums.
Audé adds, “I’ve remixed hundreds of songs over the years, but what excites me most is when a new artist brings something truly different to the table. Tony & The Kiki aren’t like most up-and-coming bands; their sound and energy are totally their own.”
With Tony sharing, “Dave Audé has taken it to a level we didn’t even think possible. It’s a sea of sound that you wanna bathe in. The beats are infectious. The man is an absolute sonic wizard and we’re beyond lucky to have him on Planet Kiki for this remix!”
For the band, it’s an extension of their mission, making space for outsiders. From that, their building a growing fanbase at home in NYC and in viral moments. Now, the spectacle is going to be taken to LA, at Palm Springs Pride this November. Until that, and the release of their new EP, the remix is keeping the bright lights shining.
