After a breakout run of four singles over the past year, lucca steps into focus with her debut EP ‘tense present.’
Her debut EP positions her within Denmark’s thriving indie-pop landscape with her distinct and beautiful voice and honest songwriting of coming of age.
The ‘tense present’ EP delivers five tracks, that begin with the gentle and calming ‘paper plane’ features blissful harmonies from lucca.
‘Is it obvious?’ ponders and reflects upon emotional vulnerability as the lyrics flow alongside stirring melodies.
‘better as a stranger’ has a bit more of a melancholic vibe to it whilst lucca continues with the theme of emotional vulnerability.
‘cool words’ has a poppier aesthetic to it in comparison to the tracks that preceded.
The EP concludes with ‘at least this far,’ which sees lucca and Kasper Falkenberg conjure up a catchy and uplifting arrangement that features radiant melodies and sentimental lyrics.
But rather than feeling like a collection, ‘tense present’ plays as something more personal: a body of work shaped by instinct, honesty and emotional precision.
