Hailing from East Kent, alternative rock regalia quinn bailey offers an eloquent and captivating love song with their latest single ‘Sweet Boy.’
Pairing layers of dreamy synths with rich, echoing guitar melodies and vivifying drums, the track gently toys with immersive shoegaze elements, whilst remaining true to the band’s signature indie-rock ethos.
‘Sweet Boy’ begins with a shimmering soundscape which leads into a smooth guitar arrangement and emotionally stirring vocals from quinn bailey.
Taking inspiration from the ethereal sonic textures of Wolf Alice and the proverbial indie dreampop of The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, ‘Sweet Boy.’ perseveres on quinn bailey’s endeavour to create music to mend the wounded soul.
Through raw, unfiltered lyrics and expansive soundscaping, quinn and the band unflinchingly deliver an enduring confession of unwavering love.
Quinn’s eclectic vocal delivery and lyricism give the track a distinctive softness, crafting a full yet delicate soundscape, depicting only too well the tender yet all-consuming nature of matters of the heart.
The track was produced by the band in a matter of weeks, after an impromptu decision to release the song on the birthday of quinn’s partner.
Having written the lyrics and melody some months prior, Quinn presented the track to the band who rewrote and arranged layers of reverberant guitars, a heartening bassline and vast, cavernous drums.
