Superchunk have unveiled a new track titled ‘Erasure‘ from their forthcoming album, What A Time To Be Alive.
The new track sees Superchunk team with Waxahatchee‘s Katie Crutchfield and The Magnetic Fields‘ Stephen Merritt. ‘Erasure‘ is the second single to be released from their new album and features fierce basslines, pulsing drums and screeching guitar melodies. Crutchfield lends her high-end vocals to the mix whilst Merritt delivers the lows. Listen to ‘Erasure‘ below.
What A Time To Be Alive is set for release via Merge Records on 16th February and comes as the group’s first new LP since 2013’s I Hate Music. In addition to Crutchfield and Merritt, the new record will also include features from Sabrina Ellis, Skylar Gudasz and David Bazan. Superchunk reissued their debut self-titled album last year as well as a 7″ charity single titled ‘Break The Glass‘ to help support the Southern Poverty Law Center.
