Sub Blue shares brooding new single ‘Range Rover’

Liverpool’s most exciting alt-R&B prospect, Sub Blue, has shared his scene-setting new single, ‘Range Rover‘.

The new track follows the Merseyside-based singer’s “hypebeast” inspired debut single, ‘Hype Like Supreme‘, and features a number of wonky synth stabs, deep groaning basslines and Sub Blue’s silky heartbreaking harmonies. Listen to the introspective R&B cut below.

Speaking about the track, the artist whose name is taken from his self-described style of music, “suburban blues”, says: “I wrote this primarily to explain that even though it looks like surburbia is the perfect set up, in reality it is often the opposite.

There’s pain here too, stemming from the fact we are locked in this cycle of trying, at all costs, to keep up appearances and meet abnormal expectations. Instead of dealing with some of this, we so often just hide behind our material things. This is reflected in the hook – like we will cry in pain while we apparently enjoy privilege.”

Range Rover’ is the first song taken from his forthcoming EP, Suburban View. Connect with Sub Blue below.
