Soaked is teaming up with the UK Charity Beat to raise awareness around eating disorders with the release of their new single ‘Simple Little Things’. Dropping a video, merch line (with 50% of profits going to Beat) and a broader media campaign, the track looks to spark conversations on self-image.
Musically, ‘Simple Little Things’ is delivered as a sharp indie slice, the trio taking up their guitar, bass and drums to backdrop poignant, poetic, but real and immediate lyricism from the vocal.
It’s candid, an honesty in the music that speaks to its cause. It’s not about dancing around the pain of themes, but embracing the raw toll on mental health that unrealistic standards can pressurise.
Brandon Frisby, vocalist and guitarist, shares, “There wasn’t one specific thing that made me want to write a song about self-image issues—it was more a combination of all the pressures young people face today to look perfect. We’re constantly targeted by corporations selling the idea of perfection, which simply isn’t real or achievable. The song reflects that, but it’s also a bit of a double-edged sword. The lyric “if only life was that simple” acknowledges how hard it is to truly tackle such a deep-rooted problem. It’s easy to say, “come and stand up with me and live carefree as we’re meant to be,” but much harder to live it. Still, writing and performing the song publicly might help people feel less isolated in these feelings.
Formed in 2022, Soaked’s reputation has been steadily increased with opening slots for The Libertines and Skegss and storming festival stages. A UK tour is on the cards for 2026, so keep an eye out for a gig near you.
