Release Date: 20th November
SLADE & ENGLAND are set to unleash their rock-pop anthem JET CAR “It beats motorway driving” on November 20th, 2025. This release fuses futuristic imagination with groove-rock energy, promising a ride that’s catchy and utterly unstoppable.
The dynamic duo consists of London-based musician Tony England and imaginative lyricist Michael Slade, they came together by chance a couple of years ago. Both creative writers, with Anthony also singing and playing as a multi-talented guitarist, bassist, arranger, and producer, they’ve already delighted fans with two Christmas songs: Santas lost the Present List and The Elves Christmas Ding a Ling song, the latter accompanied by a video. Now, their latest Rock and Roll number JET CAR takes things to warp speed. People are saying it’s very catchy and fun.
Tony England, known for energetic performances across the UK, Europe, and Australia, including Glastonbury, Bestival, The Big Green Gathering, and The Give Festival, brings his uplifting, empowering, inspiring and wonderful sound to the partnership. His music combines infectious melodies with conscious, thought-provoking lyrics, full of colour and connection. Michael Slade’s vivid storytelling, influenced by The Beatles and George Michael, blends emotional depth with inventive ideas. Introduced by a mutual friend, their collaboration sparks where words and melody inspire each other in perfect harmony.
JET CAR started as a futuristic idea, a story about freedom, speed, and imagination, something playful and larger than life that makes people dance and dream. Musically, Tony drew on influences from Stereophonics’ Dakota and David Bowie’s I Took a Trip on a Gemini Spacecraft, with his natural groove-rock bass playing shining through. Artists like Bowie, Marc Bolan, and Sam Ryder also shape the sound and energy. The track falls into an uplifting rock-pop style with a strong, memorable hook, full of drive and positivity, aligned with Tony’s signature groove-pop-rock vibe.
Producer Chris Daniel, a talented multi-genre producer and mix engineer specializing in Drum & Bass and Hip-Hop, elevated the project with his bold, polished touch. His recent work includes the Jungle Armada EP on Resistance Fammo Music and the upcoming Hip-Hop album Echoes from the Past by Acros, out on 12th December. The driving, upbeat groove-rock bass riff defines the song, making it instantly recognisable. Recorded at a studio in Isleworth by the River Thames, near the legendary Eel Pie Island Studio, JET CAR carries the main message of imagination, freedom, and the joy of movement – breaking free and going beyond limits. We wanted it to feel futuristic, fun, and uplifting, something that makes you move and smile. That’s why our motto is Be Futuristic.
From West London roots and a childhood love of David Bowie, Pink Floyd, and ELO, Tony has toured Germany and powered festivals with the Rinky Dink Pedal Powered PA System. Michael’s writing background naturally evolved into songwriting. Together, they’ve worked with notable figures like Steve Lima, producer of Come On Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners, and co-produced earlier releases with Chris Daniel.
