Q: Tell us the story behind this song.
A: This is a new and dancier version of the song Night Eyes that I released in the fall. It’s a love song for NYC and also deals with the things we see at night, may it be dreams, fears or neon lights.
Q: What’s your ‘Night Eyes Paradise’ look like?
A: Furry as always 🙂 NYC means freedom of expression to me, so I guess a glamourous pink and purple fake fur would do the trick.
Q: What’s one of your memorable moments from your 1st trip to New York City?
A: There are so many, that trip will stay with me forever. But one is for sure crossing the Williamsburg bridge in the evening going to Manhattan from the Brooklyn side. Someone had carved the words Night Eyes in the red paint of the bridge. I took a picture of that, and 10 years later it ended up on the cover of this track.
Q: What do you normally think of at night when your eyes are shut? When my eyes are shut I normally meditate or sleep.
A: Before I fall asleep at night I usually go through stuff that happened during the day and stuff that I wanna focus on in the upcoming days.
Q: I know it might be a secret, but are you able to tell us anything about your next song release? It’s for sure not a secret.
A: My next single is out on June 18, and it’s called The Light. June 18 is also my “birthday”, since my very first single was released on that day one year ago. So a lot of cool stuff will happen on that day! The Light is a single that takes from tropical house and dance pop, and deals with subjects like anxiety and staying true to yourself.
Q: As you showed a new side, with a touch of pop rock this time, any other genres you want to have a go at incorporating in your music?
A: Yes totally. You will see many different sides of me in the future, and right now I am having some fun with the synth wave trend, which suits me perfectly since I grew up with this kind of music.
