Paddy Smith returns with Angel Took Flight, the final single before his new album Could Have Found Grace lands September 19th. A slow-burning anthem steeped in blues and raw storytelling, it’s one of Smith’s most personal releases yet.
“This song is about the moments we miss, and the grace we seek after the fact,” says Smith. “It’s a story of hope and missed chances. A song that speaks to the soul.”
Rooted in Chicago blues but cut with folk, rock, and punk spirit, Smith’s sound is carved from real-life battles — addiction, redemption, and survival. His voice carries both the scars and the light.
Could Have Found Grace follows Let Those Blues In (2013) and The Devil’s Backyard (2023, Mo Mojo Records), featuring an all-star cast: Aongus Ralston (The Waterboys), Jason Duffy (The Corrs), James Delaney (Van Morrison, Rory Gallagher, Chuck Berry), and Danny Tobin (The Business Blues Band).
Produced by Ivan Jackman at Hellfire Studios, with artwork by Alfredo Kuna, the single is a powerful glimpse into an album that promises grit, heart, and redemption.
