OUT NOW: Joe Average Drop Panic Buttons

It’s here—Panic Buttons is out now everywhere. Brighton’s cult electronic outfit Joe Average return in full force as Joe Average feat Mad Mick (1990 Infinity) + FABER, delivering their first official release since the early ’90s and sounding sharper than ever.

The path back was pure cinema. Once fixtures at Hammersmith Palais and the Hippodrome during the first UK rave surge, the original trio—Rich, Mad Mick, and Prof—were scattered by time until a freak alignment: Friday the 13th, October 2023, 34 years to the day since their final show. Rich and Mick reconnected, then tracked Prof to a church in northeast London—still wearing his 1989 rave top. Call it fate, call it unfinished business.

Panic Buttons is the payoff. Produced by Rich, it slams live drums into Mick’s signature, unforgettable sax and Prof’s melodic undertow, while Faber tears through with a vocal that’s equal parts raw soul and razorwire. It’s classic rave DNA wired to modern muscle—sweaty, urgent, and built to lift a dance floor. For Rich—who walked away from drums after a serious motorcycle crash, built a global exhaust brand, and even constructed his own house—this is a full-circle ignition. Not just a return. A resurrection.

Panic Buttons is out now. Turn it up and let the rave begin.
