‘NO’, Double Major’s latest nu-disco floor-filler

Continuing a year of some of the most vibrant music you could ever ask for, all coming from an artist who only debuted at the beginning of summer, Double Major has unveiled his next single, ‘NO’. The colourful Nu-Disco cut that is on a mission to revive a forgotten scene of Pakistan’s 80s disco music, he brings modern pop sheen and early 00s nostalgia to bridge a gap across the decades.

The Berlin-based producer begins the latest with a stomping bassline and equally thumping kick groove. Vocals come with distinctly pop melodies, but are decorated with the swell of gorgeous synth pads and a bright, neon approach to harmony.

In his own words, “This song is about a very important lesson I’ve learned in life. Something we all probably have to face at some point. To get what you really want, you have to be ready to say NO to everything else. It’s a powerful word in today’s world and is more than just a denial. It is drawing a boundary, setting a goal, and indicating a preference for something greater. It’s about not accepting consolations, and recognising your worth.”

Born in Karachi, then moving to the German capital, Double Major arrived in 2025 with a bold and exciting fusion of dance, funk, disco and pop. It’s lighthearted, liberated and playful, but doesn’t shy from the intensity of love or the pain of heartbreak in his lyricism.

‘NO’ is out now!
