Neil Paterson Prentice unveils tantalising new single ‘Autumn Sun’

Listen Here – Out Now!

On the 8th of August, 2025, Neil Paterson Prentice, the visionary freelance audio engineer and musician, released his latest single, ‘Autumn Sun‘, a captivating addition to his critically acclaimed Endless Echo sessions. This ambient masterpiece is a sonic journey that captures the essence of a fiery autumn sunset, blending awe-inspiring power with serene tranquility.

Autumn Sun paints a vivid soundscape, evoking the glowing intensity of the setting sun as it fades into the calm of encroaching darkness. Shimmering guitar chords, drenched in reverb through the Eventide Physion Plugin, radiate warmth, while reversed guitar lines with high-frequency peaks mirror the restless energy of life against a backdrop of stillness. The track opens with the gentle hum of an Orange 30-watt guitar amplifier, giving way to free-time chords that ebb and flow. A restless, organ-like section builds to a crescendo of distorted high-pitched guitar, underpinned by a slow, throbbing low-frequency pulse, before fading into delayed and reverberated chords that guide the listener to a reflective close. Composed and recorded between Fife and West Sussex, this solo work is a testament to Neil Paterson Prentice’s ability to weave intricate emotions into sound.

As a semi-retired NHS doctor and a 2024 graduate with a 1st Class BSc Honours in Audio Engineering from the University of the Highlands and Islands in Perth, Scotland, Neil Paterson Prentice brings a unique perspective to his craft. His Endless Echo album, which began with the title track in August 2024 and continued through to Crows in July 2025, forms the backbone of his final honours project. Blending ambient and cinematic themes inspired by the natural world, Neil Paterson Prentice’s work resonates with listeners seeking both introspection and connection to the environment.
