Music Crowns is proud to premiere The Goddess in the Room, the powerful new project from Swiss queer singer-songwriter Mané. Blending atmospheric electronic pop with ritualistic percussion, ancestral influences, and deeply personal storytelling, the nine-track release marks a bold new chapter for one of Switzerland’s most distinctive emerging voices.
Described by the artist as “shamanic pop,” The Goddess in the Room transcends the boundaries of conventional pop music. Across its nine tracks, Mané creates a rich sonic landscape where haunting synths, grounding drum rhythms, and emotionally charged vocals converge to explore themes of empowerment, healing, queerness, spirituality, bodily autonomy, and self-discovery.
At the heart of the project lies the symbolic journey of The Goddess, a figure who gradually awakens to her own strength while reclaiming her voice, body, intuition, and identity. Through songs such as “sappho,” “Witches,” and “ALIGNED,” Mané explores the complexities of personal transformation while celebrating authenticity and resilience. The result is an album that feels equally intimate and universal, inviting listeners to embark on their own journeys of reflection and empowerment.
While Mané first emerged through a more traditional pop sound, several experiences of burnout led her to reassess both her creative practice and relationship with music. During this period, she discovered the shamanic drum, an instrument that would become central to her artistic evolution. Its pulse now forms the foundation of a unique musical language that bridges contemporary electronic production with ceremonial and ancestral influences.
The album’s tracklist unfolds like a carefully structured narrative: opening with the evocative title track “The GODDESS in the Room” before moving through deeply personal chapters including “perles de sang,” “moonstones,” “j’serai tjr là,” and “chocolate con sangre.” Along the way, listeners encounter moments of vulnerability, resistance, celebration, and healing, all tied together by Mané’s compelling vocal performances and immersive world-building.
Beyond the music itself, Mané has cultivated a multidisciplinary artistic practice centred on connection and community. Through immersive live performances, visual storytelling, ritual-inspired experiences, and advocacy for womxn and LGBTQ+ voices, she has established herself as an artist committed to creating spaces where audiences feel seen, heard, and empowered.
Having performed internationally at renowned venues and festivals including Montreux Jazz Festival, London’s Southbank Centre, Hotel Café in Los Angeles, and Threshold Festival in Liverpool, Mané has steadily built a reputation as a captivating live performer. Now signed to Zurich-based label Livana Music, she enters this new chapter with a project that fully realises her creative vision.
With The Goddess in the Room, Mané offers more than a collection of songs. She delivers an invitation; to reconnect with intuition, embrace individuality, and remember the strength that already exists within. Music Crowns is delighted to premiere this remarkable release and introduce listeners to an artist whose music resonates far beyond the boundaries of genre.
