LA alt-rock innovator and disruptor Love Ghost has returned with a new album, Gas Mask Wedding. Across sixteen tracks, themes pull us through intimacy, anger, chaos, sadness and twisted romance within a world on edge.
This project leans into Love Ghost’s unique nature, able to infuse emo, hip-hop, and contemporary shine into a distinctly alt-rock blueprint. It’s dark, solemn, but in a way effervescent; the sense of purpose and drive of Love Ghost’s career seeps into the pain of his performances.
Across the project, love is not its often romanticised, rose-tinted ideal. It’s dangerous, intoxicating, and addictive. Through this idea comes both roaring anthems and stripped-back, lonely reflections.
“This is a collection of love songs from a dystopian perspective”, frontman Finn explains*. “These songs are about finding intimacy in the middle of chaos. I wrote songs about loving something that could destroy you- because that is the world I live in, and if you do, welcome to the wedding.”*
Love Ghost’s creative momentum is unparalleled. He’s recently collaborated with The Skinner Brothers, Rico Nasty, Camidoh, and Teeam Revolver, racking up praise from tastemakers. Refusing to sit neatly in one box and performing across four continents, there’s a universality to Love Ghost that seems to keep extending.
