For Austrian-born, UK-based artist Lea G, vulnerability isn’t a weakness — it’s an art form. Her new project, THE FLOOD — a six-track EP and short film — marks her most immersive and ambitious work yet.
Unveiled to fans at a sold-out show at London’s Hope & Anchor for its first single “Better of Me”, THE FLOOD captures the disorienting beauty of transformation. Described as what might happen “if Florence + The Machine and Orla Gartland collided in a feverish daydream,” the record drifts between cinematic alt-pop and intimate confession, exploring themes of chaos, release, and renewal.
“THE FLOOD is a project born from chaos — the kind that quietly brews beneath the surface until it demands to be felt,” Lea shares. “It’s messy, emotional, loud, soft, and everything in between. I made it to feel like a release — for me, and hopefully for everyone who listens.”
Produced alongside Grammy-nominated engineer Isabel Gracefield, the EP showcases Lea’s ability to weave emotional honesty with soaring, atmospheric production. Each track feels like a step through the storm, from haunting vulnerability to anthemic catharsis.
To celebrate the release, Lea is partnering with Dolby, who mastered the project in immersive Dolby Atmos, for a launch event at Dolby HQ Cinema in London. The night will feature a live performance and the premiere of THE FLOOD short film — written, directed, and produced by Lea herself. Created with a young, all-female team, the film reimagines the EP’s emotional core through bold visual storytelling, choreography, and conceptual design.
