Judith Owen returns with ‘Judith Owen Swings Christmas’ and a new album on the horizon

Acclaimed Welsh-born, New Orleans-based singer-songwriter Judith Owen continues to captivate audiences with the re-promotion of her beloved holiday collection, Judith Owen Swings Christmas, while teasing a new album coming early 2026. Known for her wit, warmth, and exceptional musicianship, Owen’s work blends jazz, blues, and deeply personal storytelling, earning praise from The Times, Rolling Stone, JazzWise, and Jazz Journal.

Her 2022 album Come On and Get It — a joyous homage to fearless female trailblazers of the 1940s and ’50s — marked a turning point in her career, garnering over 3 million streams and selling out venues worldwide. Her upcoming releases promise to continue this legacy, exploring themes of mental health, resilience, womanhood, and creative freedom.

A Life in Music, A Legacy of Courage

Born into a musical Welsh family and raised in London, Judith Owen’s life has been shaped by her passion for performance and openness about mental health. Following the tragic loss of her mother to suicide, she channeled her grief into art, creating music that radiates joy, humour, and rebellion against adversity.

“I wanted to do music that made me smile, lit up my face, and made me laugh. After years of therapy and healing, joy became my rebellion,” she says.

Her candidness has inspired global conversations on mental health awareness, female empowerment, and creative reinvention, resonating deeply with fans and media alike.

Jazz, Joy, and Feminine Fire

Collaborating with New Orleans musical director David Torkanowsky, Owen continues to celebrate strong, unapologetic women through her music. Her admirers include Helen Mirren, Jamie Lee Curtis, John Goodman, Jamie Cullum, and Jennifer Coolidge, all praising her authenticity and brilliance on and off the stage.
