Jason Bembry empowers with pop in ‘Try To Be’

New Jersey’s Jason Bembry has had an incredible year so far, as a slew of singles have marked him as one of the most uplifting voices making alternative pop at the moment, as his shimmering, ever-evolving soundscapes brim with optimism, individuality and heart.

Once again, with the new track ‘Try To Be’, Jason is switching up the vibe. Part of the sound is more of the energetic pop, reflective lyricism and R&B smoothness he’s been developing so far. The other element is that this soundscape truly feels like a performance; the melodies rise, the harmonies draw you in, the rhythms are moving, but overall, there’s a sense of theatre, it’s a colossal sound built for the stage.

I’ll let Jason explain the meaning behind the track, “This song is all about the world we live in and the type of person we want to be. There is a lot of divisiveness and hate going around, and my personal mantra has always been to ‘Be the best version of yourself.’  No matter what happens in the world, our optimism and hope for a brighter future are what we all should use to power ourselves. Regardless of whether the world is telling you to blend in, our individuality and uniqueness are what make us human, and it’s important to remember that going forward.”

With roots in classical training, music theory and composition, the 29-year-old debuted in 2018. Weaving introspection into the soaring pop frameworks in which he operates, there’s an unapologetic and unafraid side to Jason, alongside one that works within deeper emotional truths. ‘Try To Be’ is another confident step forward.
