A reflection on manipulation and control.
The Heavy/Thrash Metal band from southern Chile has released “Confrontar,” the first preview of what will be their full-length debut album. This new work continues to strengthen the path Immersyon has been forging since their formation in 2017.
“Confrontar” addresses the power of social control and the mechanisms that sustain it: programming through mass media, the selectivity of its content, imposed consumerism, and the constant sale of promises disguised as happiness. On this concept, the band comments: “In real life, everyone looks after their own interest; your decision-making power diminishes as manipulation and control reveal themselves before your eyes in broad daylight. We confront this topic with endurance and resilience, carried by an energetic and attitude-driven track.”
Formed between Chiloé and Puerto Montt, Immersyon has been forging a strong sonic identity. In 2019, they released their demo Esclavo Silente, made up of three tracks. Later, in 2023, they introduced the EP Kalwarëngo, whose songs explore strength in the face of adversity and the nature of power. This release was accompanied by a lyric video for “Kalwarëngo” and the music video Precursor de Mentiras (2024). In 2025, the band released the single Hermanos y Lobos, a celebration of mosh culture and metal brotherhood.
“Confrontar” was independently recorded by the band. Recording was handled by Carlos Almendra and Ariel Muñoz, mixing by Carlos Almendra, and mastering by Pepe Lastarria. The single’s artwork was created by Jaime Ojeda, and photography by Manuel Muñoz.
With forceful riffs, aggressive melodies, and lyrics reflecting on mythology, nature, society, and the human essence, Immersyon continues carving their path within the Chilean metal scene. Their new single is now available on major digital platforms.
