Honey Motel have released their latest ‘T.N.A.K.’, another preview to the Motel FM EP set for release this November. As always with Honey Motel, you receive a wave of energy that is paired with a truly personal vocal performance. The track surges with distortion and drums, but frontman Freddie holds down the riot with an energised but ultimately melancholic vocal performance. Alongside the jagged atmospheres, there’s an indie infectiousness often alluded to but rarely executed as well as Honey Motel achieve.

The band comments, “T.N.A.K. is loud, defiant, and darkly tongue-in-cheek. At its core, it wrestles with the weight of societal pressure to climb, to dream, and the resistance that often greets ambition. The lyric ‘Don’t dream while you’re sleeping’ lands like a warning — stay grounded, stay small, don’t get carried away. The track leans into the idea of being a loser, flipping it into something more confrontational, a reflection of the frustration and risk that comes with trying to break out. Inspired by bands like IDLES, its raw energy and title — taken from a phrase Sam heard Joe Talbot say in an interview — became the driving force behind the song.”

The Liverpool quartet debuted their current lineup at Liverpool Sound City 2024, and have shared stages with The Lottery Winners, appeared at Y Not Festival, and earned a mountain of praise.
