Hawk In The Nest has shared their first full-length project, bringing a sound that feels beautifully classic and familiar in style and sound, but has a heart, honesty and thematic edge that feels worthy of arriving in 2025. The eight-track introduced the full vision of award-winning songwriter Avi Jacob, showcasing an instinct for soul-stained folk ballads that is rooted and talented.
Lifted by bluesy warmth and indie-pop brightness, it’s unfiltered storytelling built on organic melodies and rich arrangements that feel full without over-indulging in the grandiose or opulent. Nostalgia is woven through the album, undoubtedly, but again, it’s not stuck in the shadow of its inspirations. Throughout, it’s tender and timeless, and simply fantastic for a debut album.
In Avi’s words, “Love and connection are what make life worth living, and this album in its entirety is a lived experience of that. It’s about putting your heart out there even when you are afraid, and getting absolutely destroyed when someone doesn’t ultimately choose you.”
Produced alongside Wolfgang Zimmerman and Joel Hamilton, Avi Jacob’s story sits at the centre of it all. Raised in Boston’s DIY scene, he was playing original folk shows at 14. Later, he moved to Charleston to carve out a career built on relentless touring. Sharing stages over the years with Dr. John, the Marcus King Band, The Lone Bellow and more, he’s picked up plenty of praise.
Now based in Providence, Hawk In The Nest is the next phase, Avi led in his artistic journey by his son, Elias, who remains the guiding star behind the journey, and that sense of devotion flows through every corner of the album.
The album is out now…
