Philadelphia alt-rock band Grayscale returns with The Hart (Deluxe)—a reimagined, emotionally rich expansion of their fourth studio album—led by the stunning new focus track and video ‘Painting Over You (with Cassadee Pope)’.
The deluxe edition sees every song reworked, remixed, or elevated through fresh collaborations with artists including Smallpools, Slowly Slowly, Derek Sanders, Veaux, and more. The result is a striking blend of heartfelt rock, soft electronic touches, and atmospheric textures that widen the world of the original album.
‘Painting Over You’ emerges as a standout: a dreamy, aching duet powered by Collin Walsh’s expressive performance and Cassadee Pope’s warm, soaring harmonies. Its accompanying video captures the pair performing in a lived-in apartment setting—an intimate visual counterpoint to the song’s emotional pull.
Speaking on the project, Collin Walsh shared:
“Having our friends all jump on songs that we love, for a record we adore so much, meant the world to us. We haven’t done a ton of features before, so doing this with artists we love and have toured with over the years all in one concentrated album was crazy, chaotic, and so fun.”
With a growing global fanbase, a busy touring schedule, and a reputation for pairing sincerity with evolution, Grayscale close the year by offering listeners their most collaborative and expansive chapter yet.
