Hot off her Grammy Win, Katie London is back in familiar territory, collaborating again with Virginia’s Mad Skillz on Wednesday’s Crush. Having previously worked with Mad Skillz, where she obtained the prize for the first time around via A Hero And A Villain, as ever, her performance is spellbinding.
Discussing her feature, Katie London explains:
“I’m so happy to be featured on another incredible Mad Skillz album alongside so many amazing singers, poets, producers and creatives. The album tells the story of a relationship through all its different chapters, the romance, the good times, the difficult moments, the realisations and everything you discover along the way. I’m featured on ‘Discovery’, a song about changing an old view of love and realising that real love is something you’re constantly growing into. It’s about being self-aware within a relationship, learning from each other, recognising where you can grow and understanding that love is never something you completely figure out. As a girl from the UK, it feels so special knowing my voice has traveled across the world to become part of an American album telling such a beautiful and human story.”
Since beginning her songwriting journey, she has collaborated with acclaimed writers and producers including Harold Lilly, Vinny Venditto, Swagg R’Celious, Dele Ladimeji, Stephen Jerzack, IAMSU, Og Maco, Powfu, Qveen Herby and Krayzie Bone, while continuing to develop her craft through writing sessions in both the UK and Los Angeles. Whether writing for herself or collaborating with other artists, Katie focuses on creating emotive, memorable work. Now, with a Grammy to her name, she’s being recognised by fans and industry alike.
