Gaiga is the moniker of Tom Norris, renowned as the principal violinist for the worldwide recognisable London Symphony Orchestra. Making his debut in intelligent, genre-bending fashion as a solo artist, he releases ‘Armonika’, taken from the self-titled GAIGA, to be released in 2026.

Far from the film soundtracks and orchestral music, crossing jazz, classical and contemporary sounds, Gaiga is a project that seeks to fuse that classical knowledge, and fuse it with electronic sound design.

Norris’ production creates a six-minute sonic voyage, bringing in the sounds of nature amongst swelling synthesised notes. The textures are beautifully rich, marked by intentionality as they rise and fall. Having many sounds at play, they work with and against each other, wrapping the listener in the beauty of free-flowing electronic ambience and the steady pulse of a dancefloor.

In Norris’ words, “The album draws from the myriad influences of the composer’s rich and diverse musical background, where classical instrumentation is complemented with synthesised soundscapes and evolving textures.”
