Australian outfit Fur Blossom lean further into their evolving sound on new single ‘Goldsmith’, out now. Following their 2025 debut ‘The She Said Sun EP’, the band trade some of their earlier haze for a more focused, groove-led approach, refining their psychedelic instincts into something confident and deliberate.
The track opens with an undulating guitar figure that gradually pulls the listener inward. Each instrument enters with patience, creating a slow-build atmosphere that feels rooted in 1960s psych but filtered through a modern indie lens. The production resists excess, allowing space between elements and letting the arrangement breathe.
Craig Tees delivers a vocal that shifts between contemplation and lift, holding back in the verses before opening into a fuller, more resonant chorus. The dynamics give ‘Goldsmith’ its sense of movement, while a late harmonica break adds a playful nod to classic rock without sliding into imitation.
Lyrically, the song reflects on identity and transformation, circling the tension between growth and compromise. It is a meditation on who we become for others and what remains unchanged.
With ‘Goldsmith’, Fur Blossom sound less concerned with revivalism and more invested in shaping their own version of modern psychedelia.
