Brighton-based powerhouses Faeser have unleashed ‘Revelations’, treating audiences to the announcement of their debut EP In The Box of Heaven Pictures.
The track begins with a moment that feels like the announcement of an all-out war, which then charges into a furious guitar riff reinforced with equally frenzied drums and, in contrast, angelic harmonies. The band do a fantastic job of lighting up this dichotomy, falling from the alt-rock drama into a sweeping, emotive dream before kickstarting the roar again. If you can keep up with the pace, the track culminates in a huge guitar solo that leads the audience out.
In the band’s words, “Revelations is our biggest statement as a band yet and one of our favourite tracks to play. The recording has such a chaotic, live feel to it, which was important to us as we are, first and foremost, a live band.
It serves as a sort of introduction to this world of ‘grunge sleaze’ that we have created; it is as reflective as it is pornographic, and as faithful as it is tempting. Revelations is a lighter note in the wider project (our debut EP In The Box of Heaven Pictures). It serves as a moment of pure fun and chaos in an otherwise melancholic story that centres heavily on loss.”
Fronted by vocalist Jessica James, also comprised of lead guitarist Willow Simpson, rhythm guitarist Emia Demir, bassist Matthew Sherren and Drummer Nathan Hayward, Faeser have made a sharp entry. Becoming ones to watch in the Brighton hometown, their fanbase is feverish for the forthcoming EP, and ‘Revelations’ is the perfect way to make the statement.
