Chrystal Rose has arrived with a debut single, ‘Independent’. With elements of nostalgic R&B and pop, Chrystal Rose is confident in her delivery and takes the new single from her upcoming film, 50 Faking Fabulous, a romantic comedy.
Twinkling guitar lines with a smooth finish, tight drums provide the underlining of a soulful and reverberant lead vocal. Phoebe One, MOBO-award-winning rapper, provides a feature to drive home the track’s themes of self-belief, freedom, and not needing to rely on anyone.
Rose shares, “I wanted to salute all women and encourage those who aren’t, to become decision makers, feeling free to be confident enough to set their own boundaries, excel in their chosen fields, become financially autonomous, aspiring to believe and achieve – that’s being independent!”
Adding about her career, “My many decades have taught me depth, nuance, and resilience. At 63, the irony: the entertainment industry starts to undervalue what years have crafted. Experience isn’t a liability: it’s an asset which shouldn’t be ignored.”
A career spanning television, literature and film, Rose enters this new chapter having reached international platforms and pioneered her own talk show in the UK.
Raising funds from the single and crowdfunding will support the release of 50 Faking Fabulous.
