Boomer Baby Sounds rides again with new EP ‘I’m Your Huckleberry Now’

Listen Here – Release Date: 26th September

Boomer Baby Sounds, the brainchild of New Jersey-born, California-based singer-songwriter John Finamore, is set to unleash a sonic showdown with his latest EP, ‘I’m Your Huckleberry Now‘, dropping on September 26th, 2025. This four-track new classic rock gem channels the energy of the genre’s golden era while tackling themes as timeless as a dusty Western duel and as modern as AI’s looming shadow over society.

The EP’s title track, I’m Your Huckleberry Now, draws inspiration from the iconic line delivered by Val Kilmer’s Doc Holliday in the beloved Western Tombstone. Finamore reflects on the viral internet obsession with Kilmer’s legendary scene, weaving it into a cautionary tale about artificial intelligence challenging humanity’s future, like a modern-day Johnny Ringo staring down society in a high-stakes gunfight. The track sets the tone for an EP that’s as thought-provoking as it is foot-stomping.

Elsewhere, I Feel Something dives into the desperation of a character battling loneliness and self-destruction, while Take A Good Look At Yourself, a years-in-the-making labor of love, confronts the wreckage of a failed relationship with unflinching honesty. Rounding out the EP, Dream Girl, written in a single fevered hour, lays bare Finamore’s knack for self-sabotage with a wry, confessional edge.

For I’m Your Huckleberry Now, Finamore traded the digital wizardry of past projects for the grit and soul of live instrumentation. He enlisted a powerhouse roster of collaborators, including Derek Sherinian, keyboardist for Black Country Communion, Dream Theater, Joe Bonamassa, and Billy Idol, whose keys add an electrifying layer to the tracks. Drummer Jim Riley of Rascal Flatts and Nashville producer Bill Watson on bass bring a rock-solid foundation, while Sundown Studios and Aviv Yarmi contribute searing guitar work from their studios in LA, Nashville, and Israel. Finamore’svocals, recorded at Laguna’s Stage One rehearsal studios, carry the weight of his classic rock roots with a modern edge. Plans for lyric videos are in the works, promising to bring the EP’s stories to vivid life.

Boomer Baby Sounds is the creative outlet of John Finamore, a retired security industry veteran who turned to music during the pandemic. A lifelong fan of classic rock and blues rock, Finamore’s journey from playing covers to crafting original material has earned him a growing following. His music has already found a home on WOA Records’ Independent #1’s Vol 12 (with Vol 15 on the horizon), as well as radio stations like Radio Wigwam’s Outlaws & Gunslingers Show and Indie Juke Box Show, SoundLab, and a slew of Spotify playlists.
