ANDRO has shared his latest release, ‘Virgo’, taken from his forthcoming EP Broken Limerence. Rising to widespread acclaim as a solo artist, he’s exploring the boundaries of alternative R&B and neo-soul.
The track starts with a distant synth, and quickly grows into a massive, 80s-inspired soundscape with an addictive, warming vocal lining the top line. The rhythms grow in intensity, the pads in sparkle, rising to a vivid, pulsating chorus.
With the collection of ethereality in the higher frequency and intensity down below, ANDRO drive a pop-laced beauty into the music, all the while the enchantment feels exciting and provocative.
In ANDRO’s words, “I fell in love with someone who is a Virgo. Co-produced and co-written with one of the greatest underground artists out there, T.Priestly, who is also a Virgo. It was a gorgeous flow in the studio. My community love a bit of Zodiac realness. So Thomas and I thought it would be fun to delve into writing about what it’s like falling in love with a Virgo. Coming out of one of the longest and most turbulent relationships I’ve ever had, it was a moment of reflection and self-awareness as well as a bit of soft retribution to my Ex.”
ANDRO’s no stranger to the very highest stages. As a vocalist for the band Jungle, he’s performed at Alexandra Palace, Glastonbury Festival and Coachella, as well as across US and UK television. Now coming up in his own right, he’s had support from the very top of the UK music press and BBC radio. No doubt, then, someone with a point to prove and one to watch.
