Limahl brings holiday nostalgia with the re-release of ‘One Wish For Christmas’

Limahl rings in the festive season with the re-release of his cherished Christmas single One Wish For Christmas, arriving on 4 December 2025. The song’s official video has already gathered more than 72,000 views, fuelled by a growing swell of support following the singer’s recent creative resurgence.

The festive track arrives in the wake of Limahl’s critically praised comeback single, a reimagining of America’s ’70s classic ‘A Horse With No Name’—his first new release in more than five years.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind ‘One Wish For Christmas’, Limahl shares warm memories of his upbringing:

“Growing up in Wigan with two older brothers and a younger sister, Christmas was pure magic. We’d deck the halls (sometimes a bit too enthusiastically!) and come Christmas morning, we’d be up at some ungodly hour, barging into Mum and Dad’s room to beg for ‘official present-unwrapping clearance.’ The chorus lyric of my song sums it up perfectly: ‘December is that time of year, where memories become souvenirs’ … and we certainly made plenty of those.”

Limahl has enjoyed a vibrant year in the spotlight. He performed his iconic hit ‘Too Shy’ on BBC’s Comic Relief, helping the charity raise an extraordinary £34 million to combat poverty in the U.K. and abroad. His presence on TikTok also continues to grow—after a casual clip of him singing the ‘Too Shy’ chorus drew nearly half a million views.

Remaining an energetic live performer, Limahl continues touring throughout Europe, recently headlining Pride in Cologne. Philanthropy also plays a major role in his schedule: he co-hosted the SENSE charity gala at London’s Westminster Church Hall alongside the Princess Royal, raising more than £100k; performed at the National Portrait Gallery’s post-renovation celebration for Bloomberg; and supported the Terrence Higgins Trust at another London fundraiser surpassing £100k.

Expanding his artistic footprint beyond pop, Limahl recently performed in Madrid at the world premiere of the new stage musical adaptation of The Neverending Story (La Historia Interminable), now captivating audiences in Barcelona.

A beloved figure of the ’80s, Limahl first shot to fame as Kajagoogoo’s frontman, steering the group to international success with the chart-topping ‘Too Shy’ (now surpassing 83 million streams), followed by Top 20 singles ‘Ooh To Be Ah’and ‘Hang On Now’. His solo journey cemented him in pop history thanks to ‘Only For Love’ and the Giorgio Moroder–produced global phenomenon ‘Neverending Story’, now boasting more than 168 million streams. These timeless tracks have found new generations of fans through placements in Stranger Things, Black Mirror, and American Horror Story, and through Limahl’s appearance on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!.

With ‘One Wish For Christmas’ returning once more, Limahl invites listeners to relive the nostalgia, wonder, and joy that first inspired him—proving that some memories truly do become souvenirs.
