SOMYO releases debut EP LEYLINES with focus single ‘WHISPERS’

SOMYO debuts his EP Leylines with a focus track and new release “Whispers.” “WHISPERS,” features the ethereal
vocals of Hildur Ottilia, a deep house trance record built for the dancefloor and the soul.
Sonically, the track is pure deep house euphoria; warm, pulsing basslines layered
beneath soft vocals. It’s the kind of record that hits differently at 2am on a packed
dancefloor, but carries just as much weight through headphones alone. WHISPERS
was produced with the help of Icarus (Ian Griffiths and Tom Griffiths) who helped shape
the deep, pulsing atmosphere that makes the track feel both dancefloor-ready and
deeply personal. WHISPERS is a feel-good record with depth, the kind of song that makes you close
your eyes, raise your hands, and let go. And with Leylines, it’s just the beginning.
The EP features stand out singles such as  “FORGET TO LOVE,” a
collaboration with Sugar Jesus, a Toronto-based producer and songwriter whose work
spans Billboard-topping dance records and globally recognized releases.
“FORGET TO LOVE” is the kind of song you sing out loud because you’ve lived
every word.
“RIPTIDE,” is a track that dives even deeper into his
signature blend of vocals and immersive electronic production.
The driving rhythm is addictive, pulling you further into the sound, a powerful current
that builds with every beat and refuses to let go. “INTO THE STARS” blends electronica
and pulsing beats, while exploring the feeling of drifting between worlds. It’s a track about release,

letting go of what no longer serves you, while reaching toward something infinite and unknown.

“AWAKE.” This infectious track delves into the blurred lines between dreaming
and reality, questioning whether what we perceive as real is simply another layer of our
subconscious. Through pulsing beats and upbeat dance melodies, “AWAKE” captures
the exhilarating yet disorienting sensation of existing in a world that feels both vivid and
Dreamy.

Biography:

Electronic dance and pop wizard SOMYO, formerly known as Barrett Crake, is a self-
made artist who strives to live in the moment. He uses music and light to capture his
subconscious thoughts. To date, he has amassed over 11 million streams worldwide
with his uplifting dance music.A true global artist, SOMYO collaborates with producers from all over the world.  The
2017 remix of the classic Corona hit “Rhythm Of The Night – Radio Edit”, Mauve’s
“Tell the Truth” and JB Stark’s “Silent Treatment” came to fruition through relationships
with like-minded creatives he met online.  In 2021 he performed at “Life is Beautiful” in
Las Vegas alongside artists such as Billie Eilish, Tame Impala, and A$AP Rocky.
After moving from LA to Lisbon, Portugal, Barrett took a few years to focus on life in a
new country. It had always been a dream to learn a new language, and moving to
Portugal forced him to do so. A new culture brings new inspiration and upon returning to
the studio, Barrett decided to head to Sweden for collaborators. The music that came
out was much different than it had been when he lived in LA. When looking for a new
name to express his new sound, SOMYO (formerly Barrett Crake), found two
Portuguese words “som” (sound) and “sonho” (dream)… the perfect words to express
this new direction. Barrett is currently working on a new EP to be released in the
summer of 2025.

Through his intimate approach to songwriting, SOMYO has attracted an enthusiastic
fanbase that finds his music both relatable and inspiring. He seeks catharsis through
self-reflection in his art and each song is designed to convey that sense of healing to his
fans. In order to convey the complete story behind each track, SOMYO leans on his
background in film to create beautiful videos, often using just an iPhone to transform
each song into an expansive, multimedia art project. As he continues to release new
music, the global community of hope-seekers and partygoers drawn to his music will
undoubtedly grow exponentially with each new song.
He is always in search of better ways to heal and connect with others. He intends for his
art to be a source of inspiration for change, hope, and a better-shared world.
SOMYO’s latest collaboration with UK House Music superstars, Icarus, saw substantial
European dance radio placements, including support from Paul Oakenfold, Joachim
Garraud, Mash, Phonic Youth, Above & Beyond, Oliver Heldens, and many others.
