Toronto-based duo Dear Pressure have shared a brand new single, ‘Stateside’.
An effervescent indie-banger, it’s a tantalising taste of what’s to come from the pair, who have already firmly planted themselves as ones to watch this year. Check it out below.

Speaking on the release, the band state: “To us, “stateside” feels like driving at night on the way to visit somebody who you haven’t seen a while who now lives far away – somebody who you used to love but have lost touch with. Time and space apart changes people and warps identity. The uncertain confusion of reconnecting with a former lover/friend is unsettling – both parties try to posture to one another to show that they are doing well. But this dance is just illusory and both people know that neither one is being truthful. In these moments, it starts to sink in that you will never be able to have the same kind of relationship with the person again. You wonder if the relationship could have been something else. Stateside is the soundtrack to these moments”
‘Stateside’ is the latest single released in anticipation of the pair’s upcoming EP ‘Swimdrown’, set to be released 12th April.
