Music Crowns is delighted to introduce audiences to ‘Headlights,’ Sleep Nation’s first release since 2019. The alt rockers’ newest single offers a modernized take on ‘Last Kiss,‘ a 1961 Wayne Cochran cut about a young lover whose partner died in a car crash.

On this track, Joey Lauretta and Bran Merritt pay tribute to their heroes with lyrics that reference Buddy Holly and a delivery that incorporates the styles of Neil Young, the Bee Gees and the Eagles. ‘Headlights” bluesy feel is better suited to the subject matter at hand than the camp of Cochran’s classic. Because of Sleep Nation, this tale of star-crossed lovers may captivate a whole new generation yet.
