Spooky Cool are a highly transcendent five piece from Richmond, VA. Having been a band for a number of years now, we are delighted to share their new single ‘Only Colour’ from their debut record ‘Existential Pie’.
Full of personality and plenty of musical colouring, Spooky Cool possess a charm and vigour that not many can pull off so easily. ‘Only Colour’ is a musical work of art that seems to showcase all of their sonics in one song. Mind bending whilst also beautifully focused and present, think Matt Corby but with a more supercharged psych edge to it. We love it.
Lead singer-songwriter Zac Hryciak says “Only Colour was written about the peak of an existential crisis toward the end of my twenties. It centres around my somewhat tumultuous relationship with creativity, how it vies with my innate desire to be complicit in simply existing without expectation or desire.”
Along with their debut record, Spooky Cool have more than announced themselves to the psychedelic world with this genre blending masterpiece. It’s progressive, gritty and off centre, and ‘Only Colour’ is the perfect antidote for your psychedelic rock needs.
