Daniel Molyneaux makes waistlines whine in feel good video – Automatic

Pioneering UK dancehall artist and LGBTQ+ activist Daniel Molyneaux has returned with a feel-good music video designed to make waistlines whine this summer.

The music video for his tropical bop ‘Automatic’ delivers some much-needed positive vibes as he and friends celebrate good times on the dancefloor. Taken from his album ‘FREE’, ‘Automatic’ has an insatiable beat and lyrically explores the joy of freely moving your body without thought or restriction. It also reflects to how Daniel wants everybody in the LGBTQ+ community to showcase their sexualities – freely and without restriction.

“Anyone who knows me knows how much I live for dancehall music and how my body automatically whines when I hear this song. I had to call it Automatic!”

Out 22nd July, the joyful music video feels like a real celebration of good times as it depicts Daniel and friends out on the streets and letting loose. Daniel explains how he wanted it to represent freedom of body, freedom of sexuality and freedom of mind:

“I wanted the video to represent FREEDOM, just like how my waistline moves freely and without restriction whenever I hear dancehall music!”

‘Automatic’ follows Daniel’s previous release ‘Dance For Your Man EP’. Released during LGBT History Month in Feb, the project was the world’s first LGBT dancehall EP. Around that time he spoke to Attitude Magazine, Metro and BBC London Breakfast about how he highlights homophobia within dancehall and about his own experiences as a gay man in what is still perceived as a homophobic genre.
