The Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ first Tasmania show of their career was hit by a power cut moments after they performed their opening track, ‘Can’t Stop’.
After kicking things off with some instrumentals, the Californian group went into their iconic 2002 hit.
But by the second song – ‘Pea’ from One Hot Minute – the show abruptly came to a halt.
Tasmanian newspaper The Mercury reported that bassist Flea took it upon himself to perform handstands for the waiting gig-goers during the mishap, which lasted 15-minutes.
When the glitch passed, the Californian rockers went on to give the Derwent Entertainment Centre venue a 21-song set with no hitches.

In just under a month, The Red Hot Chili Peppers will play a landmark gig in front of the Egyptian pyramids.
It will mark the first time the Peppers play Egypt, having only visited the African continent once before in 2013 to play a set of shows in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa.
